The bug in question is the Guitar error that can occur in the final area of the Last Wish raid, the Queen’s Walk. When players encounter this error, their run is promptly ended, and they are put back into orbit, an area of Destiny 2 where guardians can safely idle or navigate between planets.
On its own, the error would be a minor inconvenience but for those that are trying to complete the Petra’s Run of Last Wish, which requires completing the whole raid without a single fire team dying, the Guitar has become a major nuisance. In fact, many have avoided trying to complete Petra’s Run until Bungie fixes the error, but 114 days after the launch of Last Wish the error is still present. However, Bungie’s Community Manager dmg04 has offered an update on the developer’s work to squash the error:
Furthermore, the Community Manager indicates that the company does not have “a specific timeframe in which this will be resolved.” That said, Bungie does promise that updates on Last Wish will be provided when possible.
Despite not having a definitive timeline for a fix, community response to Bungie’s update has been primarily positive, with some players offering details about their encounter with the error. However, there is concern about the bug’s impact on the ability for guardians to obtain the Rivensbane title.
Specifically, players must complete the Petra’s Run in order to obtain this prestigious title, and this requires completing the raid with no deaths. This is indeed a challenging task for many, and the Guitar error is no doubt responsible for the premature abandonment of some potentially successful attempts.
With the window for obtaining the Rivensbane title closing, some players are likely to be worried that they will never be able to finish Petra’s Run without encountering the dreaded error. Hopefull, Bungie’s next update will be more informative, and it will come sooner rather than later.
Destiny 2 is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
